My First Time to the Children’s Pastors Conference and 5 Reasons You Should Come
Written by Matt McKee // January 12, 2012 // Ministry // 3 Comments
I’ve spent over 10 years of my life dedicated to Children’s, Youth, and Next Generation Ministry. I’ve been in huge churches and small churches. Over the last 2 years I’ve been to more conferences than I can count or even remember that I have been to. That being said here is what I know:
- Conferences are great, good, OK, or bad not because of the keynote speakers or the breakout speakers but because of what happens in the hallways and at 1:00am when you should be in bed but you are having fun or making a deal that you never thought possible. Some of my best friends are here. Enough said.
- Children’s Pastors are some of the best people in the world. For the most part, all the egos are checked at the door, and they are focused on learning and connecting with one another. I’ve gotten some of the best questions and interactions here concerning my talks.
- There are a ton more options as far as curriculum, resources, strategies, and thoughts about how Children’s Ministry should be done then there were 10 years ago.
- Where else but Disney World would you want to do a conference for Children’s Ministry? Great venue.
- I was able to bring my family and my kids have been surrounded by people who love kids. They’ve been rock stars and that is OK in book.
It has been a great time so far and I’m really glad I came. I think you should consider this conference if looking to connect with other Children’s Pastors.

Thanks for coming! I really enjoyed your seminar. I learned so much this year. Hope to see you next year, too.
