Orange Conference 2011 Plans #orange11

All of my worlds are colliding this week and I can’t wait for it to happen.  I don’t plan on sleeping much starting tomorrow at 6:00am until Saturday morning.  What will be keeping me up for the next week?  It is called the Orange Conference.  It’s a conference where 5,000 people come together in Atlanta, GA to talk about impacting the next generation.  There will be leaders from churches, schools, and many causes that come together.  It is an awesome sight.

I would love to connect with you if possible.  Here is where I will be if you are interested in meeting or catching up.

Wednesday:

Leading 4 different workshops

  1. How to set up a Facebook Page: not only setting up a page but the strategy behind successful Facebook pages.
  2. How to design a Great Sign: a sign forces you to limit your message. Learn not only some design principles but messaging principles as well.
  3. How to connect to volunteers using text messages: There is more than just simply sending a text from your phone to someone.  There can be a strategy and tools use to connect to volunteers, parents, or even those in your community that you are trying to reach.
  4. How to use social media to connect to parents: To utilize a tool you must know why the tools were created. Don’t use a hammer when you really need a wrench.

After the workshops

  1. Stop by the ROAR booth upstairs at the Gwinnett Arena in the Orange Leaders Lounge.
  2. Say hi to all of the bloggers upstairs in the MinisterSearch Blogger’s suites.
  3. Go by the YouLead booth and make sure everything is good to go.
  4. Have a conversation with Ted Lowe about MarriedPeople.org
  5. Coffee and Connections event at 10:00pm at Chocolate Perks. First 100 people get a free ROAR shirt.
  6. I’m sure a Waffle House will be in there somewhere after the Coffee and Connections event.

Thursday:

  1. At the ROAR booth some.  We are giving away a mobile WebApp so make sure and sign up for that.
  2. Hanging out with some more bloggers upstairs in the Arena.
  3. Don’t forget to stop by the YouLead booth and pick up some great leadership curriculum.
  4. Saying hi to Fellowship Tech.
  5. Meeting with some of the best people in the world that run companies focused on impacting the next generation.
  6. Might even get to see my wife this day.  That would be a treat.
  7. Family Experience event with my 2 boys and my in-laws.  I look forward to that.
  8. Hoping from hotel to hotel joining in on conversations from the day. (let me know what hotel you are staying at and I might just stop by.)

Friday:

  1. Come upstairs to the Orange Leaders Lounge. Enough said.
  2. YouLead booth
  3. ROAR booth
  4. Bloggers here I come.
  5. A little time backstage just because I can.
  6. Give away a WebApp to someone.
  7. Have some fun coming up with something creative to do before the conference is over.
  8. Go hang out at the Stone Mountain and watch the laser show.
  9. Crash.

So in review, if I’m not upstairs in the Gwinnett Arena then I’m meeting with someone about how to change the world.  Come back and we then can discuss whatever you want.

Can’t wait.  This is going to be a blast.
