Orange Week: 19 Reasons Not To Come To The Orange Conference #thinkorange

There are a lot of people who are telling you that you should come to the Orange Conference in 2012 and that you should sign up starting this Thursday. Well this post is not going to be one of those posts. Instead I thought I would break down the reasons not to come to the conference. So here you go…
Reasons not to come to the Orange Conference
- You are hoping to see Justin Bieber sing Never Say Never.
- I might be wearing white pants. You really don’t want to see that.
- You prefer to follow all conferences by Twitter and reading about them on blogs.
- Instead of learning about a strategy to reach the next generation you would rather play Angry Birds.
- You want to connect with other citrus farmers to talk about soil conservation.
- You like to do use the same ministry methodology that was done in 1852.
- You are hoping to see a lot of fanny packs.
- Atlanta has bad traffic and you booked a hotel downtown instead of near the conference center.
- You like things that are not going to inspire you.
- You might see someone who has transformed a toilet into a motor vehicle.
- The idea that Syracuse has left the Big East makes you so sick that you can’t think of seeing the color Orange anymore.
- Seeing large numbers of people worshiping God isn’t your cup of tea.
- You would prefer to give students wedgies, wet-willies, and teach from a flannel board.
- You think that you know all there is to know about ministry.
- You don’t think refueling yourself is that important.
- You think that it’s a youth ministry conference, a children’s ministry conference, or a preschool conference.
- You’ve already heard Andy Stanley speak and you thought he wasn’t the best communicator on the planet.
- You like to Jesus juke people.
- You have a basement full of cats.
I hope that you are now convinced if any of these reasons made sense.
